Summer office parties are hosted for a number of purposes which include introducing your family and friends to your co-workers in an information and fun environment. While such summer parties are all about fun and frolic, they are primarily used as a platform to improve team bonding and professional productivity. Make them interesting by including strategic activities and games to create a good team-building atmosphere while enjoying a hot summer. Ideas for summer parties are aplenty, ranging from the physically taxing Portable Rock Climbing to the thought-provoking strategy games. Here’s a list of activities to ensure that there is no dearth of excitement in your happening summer party!
Water balloon contest- This is a really easy-yet fun game to play. Purchase balloons of different shapes and sizes for your employees, and select one color to identify each team. You can make as many teams as you want, provided you select an area which does not get much vehicle traffic. A participant loses the game when a balloon explodes on him.
Portable rock climbing- This is another great activity to enjoy in a summer party. Portable rocks can be taken anywhere, even in indoors. Use these rocks wisely by arranging relay races or group climbing contest. This will force employees to trust upon each other wholeheartedly, which will augur well in their professional career!
Scavenger hunt- This game involves developing a series of clues which must be used to trace certain items, preferably those pertaining to your workplace. Empower your employees to select a group of people who would need to decipher the clues intelligently and trace the items. Give them a time-frame to complete the task, and allows the employees to select a winner on the basis of the most number of accurate findings.
Mini Golf- This is one of the most popular games around, especially during corporate summer parties. Just rent putt golf or arrange it outdoors. Make sure that there are at least 9 holes to give everybody a fair chance. However, try and use this game for team building purposes only and discourage serious competition between your employees.
